Manuscript of André Breton's speech at a meeting organised by the Internationalist Workers' Party in January 1937. This text was reprinted in Tracts edited by José Pierre in 1980.
On the occasion of the second Moscow trial, André Breton spoke on 26 January 1937 at a meeting organised by the P.O.I. (the Parti ouvrier internationaliste) in Magic City. His text, published in Alentours II of the second volume of the Pléiade collected works, not only denounced the iniquity and lies of Soviet power, but also anticipated events by attacking the USSR for its greatest contradiction: the counter-revolutionary nature of the diplomatic work it had undertaken since the creation of the Popular Fronts. The beginning of the speech only. [Atelier André Breton website, 2005]
