La collection Phares vous propose des films en VOD ainsi que des coffrets livre + DVD consacrés aux artistes du mouvement surréaliste : Yves Tanguy, André Breton, Yves Elléouët, Victor Brauner, Jacqueline Lamba, Marcel Duchamp, Robert Desnos, Alan Glass, Wifredo Lam, Leonora Carrington, Dorothea Tanning, Max Ernst, André Masson, Alice Rahon, Remedios Varo, Jacques Hérold, Claude Cahun, Toyen, Benjamin Péret, Dora Maar, Jean-Claude Silbermann, Francis Picabia, Wolfgang Paalen, Kay Sage, Daniel Cordier, René Magritte, et Jacques Vaché.
Cette collection compte aujourd'hui 27 coffrets. Chaque coffret contient un à plusieurs films + un livre de 88 pages retraçant la vie et l'œuvre de chaque artiste et illustré de documents inédits.
« À la demande du Centre Pompidou (coproducteur), nous avons réalisé, en 2003, un film documentaire sur la collection de mon père André Breton, rue Fontaine. Au moment d'apporter la touche finale au film, nous l'avons complété par un livret réunissant des documents biographiques et iconographiques », explique Aube Breton-Elléouët (fille d'André Breton et de Jacqueline Lamba) qui dirige la Collection Phares en coproduction avec Séverine Gauci (Seven Doc). « Le but était de créer une collection de DVD autour du surréalisme concernant des créateurs qui ont approché le mouvement de près ou de loin. Certains artistes qui y figurent sont célèbres, d'autres moins. Ceci afin que les artistes connus portent en lumière ceux qui le sont moins. »
