Laura Thompson was one of the founders of the Society for Applied Anthropology coordinator at Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1941 to 1947.
Field work in Southwest US among Hopi, Zuni and Navajo tribes.
This book composed and printed at Haskell institute, Lawrence, Kansas for the United States Indian service.
The volume result from a three-years collaboration between the Indian service and
the Committee on human development of the University of Chicago.
