Between Emmanuel Berl and André Breton, at the end of the 1920’s Suzanne Muzard’s sentimental life is marked by a constant hesitation, which can be seen in this text intended for – but not published in – The Surrealist Revolution. For beneath the technique of automatic writing, we can find a certain weight of phrasing, a consideration in the choice of terms, which reveals the mastery and the control of a culture and a style that the Surrealists would strive to overthrow.
