Undated handwritten manuscripts, destined for an enquiry for Le Surréalisme, même.
Never published, perhaps for want of the right place (Le Surréalisme, même ceased publication in 1959 after its fifth issue), this enquiry in the tradition of those launched from the late 1920s onwards is not the easiest of them for today’s reader to understand: what are the figurines in question here? But the principle can be grasped, which is once again to review a culture and a history from perspectives that are the most unexpected – and thus the best placed to offer new insights.
