"Henri and No Seigle first met Victor Brauner, then André Breton and joined the Surrealist Group after Benjamin Péret presented Henry Hattaway's film, Peter Ibbetson. This cinematographic adaptation of 'l'Amour fou' by George du Maurier represented for André Breton a 'prodigious film, a triumph for Surrealist thought, being the only one dealing with the exaltation of total love. Incarnating this, and serving as a point of reference, was the couple formed by the Seigles." Michel Butor (André Breton (préface), Seigle, Paris, Manuceau Éditeur, 1990, p. 167).
