Description
Three letters presented here to us, the first to the review, the second to Roger Vailland, the last to an anonymous recipient (Vailland? Daumal?).
Surrealist relations with the Big Game (le Grand Jeu) have always been turbulent; in the three letters presented here to us, the first to the review, the second to Roger Vailland, the last to an anonymous recipient (Vailland? Daumal?), we see points of contention raised, among which is included the regrettable and memorable accusation of Vailland, for having praised the Police Commissioner Chiappe in a newspaper article.
For more details on this matter, refer to the Pléiade volume 1, « A suivre. Petite contribution au dossier de certains intellectuels à tendances révolutionnaires », p. 951.
Documents presented here take place in the following order: the first before, and the second and third after the crisis.
