- I have proclaimed my admiration for Mayakovsky, not just for the poet – the sparkling creator of ‘A Cloud in Trousers’ – but also for the man who had no hesitation in putting everything at his disposal in the service of revolutionary reconstruction.’
Dated and initialled at the foot of the page ‘New York, 2 July 1941’ plus André Breton’s monogram.
