Author André BretonPerson cited Robert Delaunay
Description
Text by André Breton, dedicated to Robert Delaunay, otherwise known as ‘Les Pinceaux de l'amour’ (The Paintbrushes of Love), dating from 1922.
Published in another version, in the Inédits II of the first volume of the Œuvres complètes, this text - dedicated to Robert Delaunay (who in 1922 painted Breton's portrait) - was also called 'Les Pinceaux de l'amour' (The Paintbrushes of Love). For more details on the other versions, see the Œuvres complètes, volume I, p. 604. The version preserved here seems later, and is certainly better, as can be seen from the opening line of the published version: "The towers bear stoles”. [Atelier André Breton website, 2005]
Autograph automatic text, 1922.
- "Aux tours s'enroulent les dernières étoles blondes", 1 page in-4° in purple ink on the back of "Congrès de Paris" headed paper, relating to Robert Delaunay. [Sale Catalogue, 2003]
